• wrench set

• camera + phone with GPS
• tape measure

Steps

1. Photograph the site BEFORE with GPS on and a legible timestamp; confirm you are inside the posting radius.
2. 2. Measure the BEFORE flow: run the fixture into a measured container for exactly 60 seconds, or use a flow bag. Record L/min or GPM.
3. 3. Shut off the supply before any fitting is opened.
4. 4. Install the fixture, aerator, or capture component per its instructions, using thread tape on threaded joints.
5. 5. Restore supply and check every joint for leaks under pressure for a full minute.
6. 6. Measure the AFTER flow the same way and record it.
7. 7. For capture, record vessel volume and overflow routing.
8. Photograph AFTER from the same position as the before shot.

If it does not match the plan

• Any leak after install -> do not sign off; re-seat the fitting.
• Supply cannot be isolated -> stop; do not open a fitting under pressure.
• Backflow risk into potable supply -> stop; this requires a certified device and inspection.
• Captured water routed anywhere it can pond against a foundation -> reroute before completing.
