An enclosed crawlspace below the Franklinton floodwall's protected grade still needs to equalize hydrostatic pressure in an extreme event per FEMA floodplain practice; engineered flood vents are the code-compliant way to do that without relying on the walls to fail first. Confirm the required net open vent area against the enclosure's square footage per the FEMA/ICC formula and photograph the existing foundation wall. 2. Mark and cut the vent openings to the engineered vent's rough-opening spec, keeping openings on at least two exterior walls. 3. Set and fasten each engineered flood vent per its listing/instructions, sealing the perimeter weathertight. 4. Photograph the finished vents, confirm the total net open area meets the calculated requirement, and log the vent model/count for the permit record. Steps

- 5. Note debris, hazards, and the extent (sketch).
- 6. Enter depth, any analytes, hazard notes, GPS, photos into the proof record; sign.
If it does not match the plan
- Unstable ground / submerged debris / contaminated water -> document from safe footing; do not enter.
- Elevated metals in deposited sediment -> flag before any reuse; recommend lab confirm.
