Plant street trees on the barest blocks of Barrio Logan
Blocks near the working waterfront run several degrees hotter than leafy neighborhoods a mile away, and the diesel corridor makes shade and leaf area a health issue, not a decoration. Planting approved street trees in empty pits and parkways builds the canopy this fenceline neighborhood has been shorted for decades. Standard: City of San Diego street tree permit program and Climate Action Plan canopy goal โ SDG 11. Proof: Per-tree planting photos with GPS Method (City of San Diego street tree permit program and Climate Action Plan canopy goal โ SDG 11.): 1. Confirm the site's empty pits or parkway strips and the approved species list with the city's free street-tree process before planting. 2. Call 811 utility locate and mark before any digging. 3. Dig each hole twice the root-ball width, set the tree at grade, backfill, and water in thoroughly. 4. Stake loosely, build a watering basin and mulch ring, and photograph each planted tree with GPS and date. Done when: Per-tree planting photos with GPS

- camera
- hi-vis vest
Steps
