Add a flood vent so a Pajaro home's foundation can breathe
The Pajaro River levee sits close to town, and the next high flow could push water against foundation walls again. A code-style flood vent lets water pass through the crawl space instead of building pressure against the walls, which is one of the cheapest things a homeowner can do before the next storm season. Standard: FEMA NFIP flood-vent requirements (44 CFR 60.3); local floodplain building practice โ SDG 11. Proof: Photo of the installed, operable flood vent Method (FEMA NFIP flood-vent requirements (44 CFR 60.3); local floodplain building practice โ SDG 11.): 1. Confirm the vent location and size with the host and any posted floodplain requirement. 2. Cut the opening per the vent manufacturer's template. 3. Install and fasten the vent per its instructions. 4. Check that the vent operates freely. 5. Photograph the installed vent with GPS and date. Done when: Photo of the installed, operable flood vent
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it. Typically 45โ90 minutes. Method of record: FEMA floodplain + green-infrastructure siting screen
Bring
- GPS phone
- tape/ruler for deposition depth
- metals field kit (if sediment screen in scope)
- boots + gloves
- camera
Steps
- 1. Confirm post-event conditions are safe; navigate to the site; record GPS.
- 2. Photograph deposited sediment / affected area.
- 3. Measure deposition depth at representative points.
- 4. If a sediment contaminant screen is in scope, run the metals field kit and record values.
- 5. Note debris, hazards, and the extent (sketch).
- 6. Enter depth, any analytes, hazard notes, GPS, photos into the proof record; sign.
If it does not match the plan
- Unstable ground / submerged debris / contaminated water -> document from safe footing; do not enter.
- Elevated metals in deposited sediment -> flag before any reuse; recommend lab confirm.
What counts as done
- Deposition depth recorded at representative points
- Metals screen recorded (if in scope)
- Debris/hazard note + extent sketch
- GPS waypoint + timestamped photos
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours, and signing costs nothing: no card, no deposit, no fee. An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
