Plant a young date or fruit tree at an invited Marrakech community garden

Marrakech's palm and fruit orchard tradition is part of what makes the city's oasis gardens worth protecting, and new tree plantings keep that tradition alive as older trees age out — a single young tree, well-planted, is a real start. Standard: UN-Habitat / FAO urban-forestry guidance — SDG 11 & SDG 15 (Life on Land). Proof: Before/after photos of the planting. Dig a planting hole with hand tools sized to the root ball. 3. Set the young tree at the correct depth and backfill. 4. Water thoroughly and mulch the base. 5. Photograph the finished planting. How this work is done

Steps

1. 1. Walk the corridor; record a GPS waypoint at each tree.
2. 2. Photograph each surveyed tree.
3. 3. Record species (best estimate), condition class (good/fair/poor/dead), and DBH (diameter at breast height).
4. 4. Count vacant planting sites.
5. 5. Enter the per-tree records, vacant-site count, GPS, photos into the proof record; sign.

If it does not match the plan

• Dead or hazardous tree observed -> flag for the responsible agency (no removal by surveyor).
• High vacant-site count -> recommend a planting plan for the corridor.

• Per-tree species + condition + DBH recorded
• Vacant planting sites counted
• GPS waypoint per tree
• Photo per surveyed tree
