Standing dead trees (snags) can fail and drop limbs without warning; keep at least 30 feet of stand off from any standing snag at all times and never work beneath one.
- 2. Note the approximate depth of the litter buildup near the trailhead kiosk and parking area.
- 3. Record, in the survey note, any standing snag's approximate distance from the area to be raked, without approaching it.
- 4. Record a ranked follow on note naming the trailhead margin for pine straw fuel reduction raking.
