Steps
- 1. From the public road, a designated pull-off, or the WMA's public access area only, use binoculars or a spotting scope to observe the escape terrain (steep rock) above and note where dense brush at its base could screen a predator's approach. This work never climbs, scrambles onto, or otherwise works on escape terrain, the steep rock desert bighorn sheep use specifically because predators cannot follow; every observation here is made from the public road, a designated pull-off, or the WMA's public access area, using binoculars or a spotting scope, never on foot on the terrain itself.
- 2. Photograph the terrain and brush structure from the public vantage, without approaching or climbing.
- 3. Watch for bighorn using the terrain while observing, and never approach, follow, or photograph them at close range. This work never approaches, follows, herds, or photographs bighorn sheep at close range, and never uses a drone; if bighorn are visibly using a water source, withdraw immediately and do not begin or continue any work there while they are present.
- 4. Record a ranked follow on note naming the apron area for a predator concealment brush clearing crew. Check the WMA's current permit-based seasonal public access rules and active hunt schedule before visiting, and wear blaze orange during an active hunting season.

- Note of sightline structure and any dense brush observed at the terrain base
- Confirmation that this job never climbed, scrambled onto, or otherwise worked on escape terrain, and that all observation was made from the public road, a designated pull-off, or the WMA's public access area using optics; that no bighorn sheep was approached, followed, herded, or photographed at close range, and no drone was used; that if bighorn were visibly present at a water source the crew withdrew and did not work there while animals were present; that no water source or lambing area coordinate or identifying detail was recorded or disclosed, and the location on file is the WMA headquarters or a public access point; that no aoudad was culled, hunted, trapped, or handled at any skill level; and that current WMA permit-based access rules and the hunt schedule were checked before starting, with blaze orange worn in season.
