This work never climbs, scrambles onto, or otherwise works on escape terrain, the steep rock desert bighorn sheep use specifically because predators cannot follow; every observation here is made from the public road, a designated pull-off, or the WMA's public access area, using binoculars or a spotting scope, never on foot on the terrain itself. This work never approaches, follows, herds, or photographs bighorn sheep at close range, and never uses a drone; if bighorn are visibly using a water source, withdraw immediately and do not begin or continue any work there while they are present. No water source (guzzler) or lambing area coordinate, or any landscape detail that would identify one, is recorded, photographed, or otherwise disclosed in this work; the location on file for this job is always the WMA headquarters or public access point, never the water source or lambing area itself. Aoudad (Barbary sheep) management here is observation of competition indicators only; this work never authors culling, hunting, trapping, or any animal handling at any skill level. Rattlesnakes are common in this desert terrain; watch foot and hand placement around rock, brush, and woodpiles at all times, and give any snake a wide path. This is extreme Trans-Pecos Chihuahuan Desert terrain with no shade, no dependable water, and long distances from help; work only in early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak heat, carry far more water than you think you need, tell someone your planned route and return time before starting, and carry a way to call for help since cell service is unreliable in this remote country. Check the WMA's current permit-based seasonal public access rules and active hunt schedule before visiting, and wear blaze orange during an active hunting season.
