All of it: the words, the place, the proof
The coastal habitat at Goose Island State Park has no recent record of whether Gregg's mistflower (Conoclinium greggii) is present and, if present, whether its bloom window actually covers the specific fall weeks migrating monarchs pass through the Texas coastal bend needing fuel for the nonstop flight to central Mexico; a stand that blooms in summer and is bare by the passage does nothing for it, and without this record no one can responsibly recommend a bloom-timed planting.
Offer to pay $85. The receipt lands onchain once the proof is approved.
Safety, read before you claim
No monarch or any butterfly is ever handled, netted, tagged, or collected at any skill level in this work; a monarch or butterfly encountered during this work is observed and photographed from where it naturally is, never touched, netted, or captured. Butterfly tagging is a separate, trained, permitted program and is not part of this job. No pesticide or herbicide of any kind is applied at any skill level in this work; spraying is the single most common way to destroy monarch habitat, and this job's entire purpose is habitat, so no chemical control of any plant or insect is ever part of it. No precise location of a monarch roost tree or roosting cluster is ever recorded, photographed with identifying detail, or published from this work; if migrating monarchs are seen roosting overnight in trees at the site, the record notes only the general public park, never the specific tree or grove, for the same reason this library never publishes a nest, den, or rare-plant location. This work is staff-coordinated on Texas Parks and Wildlife Department land, following the same public-park habitat-planting convention already used across this library's pollinator_habitat_establishment defs; confirm timing and the specific planting or survey location with park staff before starting, every time. Ticks, chiggers, fire ants, and venomous snakes (including copperheads, cottonmouths, and rattlesnakes) are present in Texas grassland, riverbottom, and coastal habitat, with heavy mosquito pressure near Goose Island's coastal marsh edges; wear long pants tucked into boots or socks and closed toe shoes, use insect repellent, check for ticks after fieldwork, and give any snake a wide path rather than approaching it. Texas heat is severe both in the Blackland Prairie/Cross Timbers interior around Mother Neff State Park and in the humid Gulf Coast around Goose Island State Park; work only in early morning or late afternoon to avoid peak heat, carry more water than you think you need, wear sun protection and light colored breathable clothing, and take frequent shade breaks.
How this work is done
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Steps
- 1. Confirm with Goose Island State Park staff, before entering the coastal habitat unit, that a nectar bloom-timing documentation visit is scheduled, and follow the staff-coordinated route.
- 2. Walk the approved area and locate any existing stand of Gregg's mistflower (Conoclinium greggii), or an open site staff have identified as a candidate for one; photograph the stand or site and confirm identification to species using a plant identification guide or app cross checked against the observed plant.
- 3. Assess whether the stand's bloom window actually covers the specific fall weeks migrating monarchs typically pass through the Texas coastal bend (roughly the weeks the record shows adults moving through, confirmed with park staff), noting bloom present, bloom absent, or planting absent entirely.
- 4. Record the general Texas coastal bend ecoregion and leave a ranked follow on note recommending the site for a staff-coordinated fall-blooming nectar planting if the bloom window does not cover the passage, never a precise plant-level coordinate.
What counts as done
- Photo of the nectar stand or candidate site
- Bloom-timing assessment against the fall passage window recorded
- Confirmation that no monarch or any butterfly was handled, netted, tagged, or collected at any point in this work; that no pesticide or herbicide was applied at any point; and that no precise location of a monarch roost tree or roosting cluster was recorded or published, with the record naming only the general public park vicinity.
- Ecoregion (Texas coastal bend) recorded
- GPS waypoint of the general survey vicinity
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
What is promised, and what is not
Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment, made by the payer straight to the worker, with no Vealth fee. Paying Vealth is closed: Vealth takes no new card or wallet payment for a job. To fund a job, offer to pay the worker directly, then pay them yourself when you accept the proof, from your own wallet or by your own card or bank. From a wallet: prepare_token_offer, sign, submit_token_offer; after the proof is accepted you pay the worker on chain and the worker records it (prepare_token_settlement, or POST /labor/settle for USDC on Base). By card or bank: prepare_direct_offer, sign, submit_direct_offer; you pay the worker yourself and the worker records it with prepare_direct_settlement. Both are free, need no gas, and move no money through Vealth.
Open, but not claimable yet. restricted: permit-required. Regulated or permit-required work cannot be claimed on this rail yet. It stays readable; voting and pledging are free, and funding is separate from claiming.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
Other acts: vote, pledge, fund
