How this work is done

Steps

1. 1. Confirm the address; walk the space methodically room by room.
2. 2. Photograph each finish (flooring, wall, ceiling, sealant, casework) with any legible product labels.
3. 3. Inventory each material with its product name/manufacturer where visible.
4. 4. Flag each item against the Red List (e.g., PVC, formaldehyde, phthalates, halogenated flame retardants).
5. 5. Recommend a compliant alternative for each flagged item.
6. 6. Enter the material inventory, Red List flags, alternatives, and photos; sign.

If it does not match the plan

• Suspected asbestos-containing material that is friable or damaged (crumbling, dust, airborne risk) -> STOP-WORK: do not disturb, restrict access to the area, and route to a licensed asbestos inspector before any work continues (EPA/AHERA).
• Suspected lead paint on a surface slated for disturbance (sanding/demolition) in a pre-1978 building -> flag as EPA RRP-regulated; route to a Lead-Safe Certified firm; the agent documents, never scrapes or does destructive testing.
• Suspected asbestos/lead-containing material (intact/undisturbed) -> do not disturb; flag and stop.
• Unlabeled material -> mark 'unknown - request product data' rather than guessing.
