- 3. Wipe the old, dried thermal paste from both the processor and the heatsink with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth, then apply a small, manufacturer-recommended amount of new thermal paste to the processor.
- 4. Reinstall the heatsink with its own screws in the manufacturer's pattern, close the tower, power it on, and photograph the computer running with temperatures visibly stable.
