Confirm the device has a manufacturer-designed battery access, a latch, a battery door, or a single external access panel held by ordinary screws, never a sealed case that would need prying, heat, or cutting to open. If the battery is glued or soldered in with no such access, stop here; this rung does not apply and the device routes to a certified repair shop instead.
  2. 2. Power the device off and unplug any charger before opening the access panel.
  3. 3. Remove the old battery through its designed latch or screws only, note its type and rating, and install a matching replacement battery of the same specification.
  4. 4. Close the access panel, power the device on, confirm it charges and holds a charge, and photograph the working device with its new battery visible before closing the panel.
