Anyone can start here · a resident's own home along FM 140 west of Pearsall, Frio County, TX 78061 (own-home, best-estimate location near the town center)

Turn a gas water heater's dial down to 120 degrees.

Fund it for $80. Proof lands onchain when it's done.

$80 proposed

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash. You see which before you claim, never after.

Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee.

What the work involves

This gas water heater still sits at its hot factory setting, burning gas around the clock to hold water hotter than anyone uses at the tap, and raising the risk of a scald with every hot draw.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

  1. Confirm the unit is a gas water heater, not electric, then, with the resident present, locate the external temperature dial at the base of the tank and photograph its current position before touching it.
  2. Turn the dial down by hand to the 120-degree mark, or the manufacturer's equivalent Low or Warm setting if the dial carries no numbers. This rung never touches, lights, relights, or adjusts the gas line, pilot light, burner, flue, or venting at any point. It never opens, tests, or operates the temperature-and-pressure relief valve itself; operating it can prevent it reseating.
  3. Mark the new dial position with a permanent marker or a small sticker and write today's date on a tag left at the tank.
  4. Photograph the marked dial and the dated tag, and leave the dated tag with the resident confirming no one on site needs hotter water for a medical reason before leaving the setting in place.

What counts as done

  • Confirmation that the water heater is gas-fired, not electric, before any dial was touched
  • Before photo of the dial at its original factory position
  • After photo of the dial marked at 120 degrees or the equivalent Low or Warm mark, with the dated tag visible
  • Confirmation that the gas line, pilot light, burner, flue, venting, and the pressure relief valve were never touched

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

The standard this serves

Weatherization Readiness. Weatherization readiness is the survey that turns a cold, expensive-to-heat home into a fundable plan. Following the Department of Energy's program, the surveyor maps where the house leaks air, which attics and walls lack insulation, what fresh-air path must follow the tightening, and which safety checks must clear first. Mastery looks like a walkthrough that ends with a package a weatherization crew can price without a second visit. This packet is one piece of one such survey, done carefully and written down, so a real family's real house gets closer to warm.

The money and the proof

What is promised, and what is not.

Funding this work is a purchase or a vote, same act: you either want this done here, or you want the world to contain it. A vote is free and signed; funding starts at one cent and anything beyond the wage is recorded as a premium for the worker. Either way the money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1786671554065_z69h8ls","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
