How this work is done

Steps

1. Once a year, with a City of Burnet public works staff member present, locate the marked dial and dated tag left by the prior visit and photograph the current dial position against the mark.
2. If the dial still lines up with the mark, re-photograph it in place; if it has drifted, turn it back to the 120-degree mark by hand. This rung never touches, lights, relights, or adjusts the gas line, pilot light, burner, flue, or venting at any point. It never opens, tests, or operates the temperature-and-pressure relief valve itself; operating it can prevent it reseating.
3. Refresh the mark and the dated tag with a new date so it reads clearly for another year.
4. Photograph the confirmed or corrected dial and tag as the year's record, and deliver the dated tag record to City of Burnet public works staff.
