How this work is done

Steps

1. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet before doing any work behind or underneath it, then, with a City of Floresville public works staff member present, using furniture sliders under the front feet or a two-person lift, pull it straight out from the wall a short distance, keeping it upright and never tilting it more than a slight lean, and never pulling it by the door handle.
2. Locate the condenser coils, either behind a grille at the base of the unit or exposed on the back panel, and vacuum the visible dust off with a brush attachment.
3. Finish with a long, narrow coil brush worked through the fins in the direction they run until the brush comes out clean, then wipe down the floor and wall space behind and beneath the unit where the dust settled.
4. Slide the refrigerator fully back to the wall, plug it back in, confirm it is running and cold at the vents, and photograph the cleaned coils and the reconnected power cord.
