1. With the resident present, before starting a load, check the clothes against the machine's own fill-line markings or load guide printed inside the lid or on the door frame.
2. Select the load-size setting (Small, Medium, or Large) that actually matches how full the drum is, never defaulting to the largest setting out of habit.
3. Where two partial loads are waiting nearby, combine them into one full load instead of running two half-full cycles.
4. Run the cycle, then start or add to a simple dated tally posted near the machine recording the load size actually used, so the match becomes a tracked habit going forward.
