Anyone can start here · the break room at a City of Columbus public works or parks maintenance facility, near the Colorado County Courthouse, 400 Spring St, Columbus, TX 78934 (public works, best-estimate location near the confirmed courthouse address, exact maintenance-facility address not confirmed)
Set this washing machine to wash cold by default, the break room.
Fund it for $80. Proof lands onchain when it's done.
$80 proposed
This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash. You see which before you claim, never after.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee.
What the work involvesRoughly nine tenths of a washing machine's per-load energy goes into heating the water, not turning the drum, and this machine's temperature control has been left on Warm or Hot since it was installed, spending that energy on every single load.
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Steps
- With a City of Columbus public works staff member present, locate the washing machine's temperature control (dial, button, or touchscreen selector) and photograph its current default setting before touching it.
- Change the default wash temperature to Cold, or the machine's coldest labeled setting, and confirm the rinse temperature is also left on Cold.
- If the control lets a cycle be saved as a default or favorite, save the cold-wash setting so the machine returns to it automatically rather than reverting to the old setting.
- Attach a small dated label near the control reading the new default, and photograph the finished setting and label together.
What counts as done
- Before photo of the original wash-temperature setting
- Confirmation that the rinse temperature was also confirmed cold
- After photo of the setting changed to cold with the dated label visible
- Attestation that the new default was saved or otherwise confirmed to hold on the next load
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
The standard this serves
Energy Efficiency Audit. Energy efficiency work begins with the walkthrough audit, the kind the ASHRAE standard describes: a trained eye moving through a building, reading the bills, the walls, the lights, and the equipment, and coming out with the short list of fixes worth doing first. Mastery looks like an auditor who can feel where a building is bleeding money within the hour, and prove it on paper. That instinct is trained by repetition on real buildings. This packet is one repetition: one system observed, one reading taken, one finding recorded the way the standard asks.
What is promised, and what is not.
Funding this work is a purchase or a vote, same act: you either want this done here, or you want the world to contain it. A vote is free and signed; funding starts at one cent and anything beyond the wage is recorded as a premium for the worker. Either way the money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1786672479075_98gw0w8","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
