How this work is done

Steps

1. 1. Confirm which paddock the flock currently occupies and photograph the depleted (currently in-use) side and the resting side before shifting.
2. 2. Close off the depleted side and open the gate or divider so the flock has access only to the rested paddock.
3. 3. Lightly rake the vacated paddock, scatter cover-crop or forage seed if the resident wants it, and record the date the paddock was rested.
4. 4. Photograph the newly-occupied paddock and the resting paddock from the matching before vantage, and log the shift date for the next scheduled rotation.
5. 5. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water immediately after any contact with the coop, run, litter, or compost, and wear dedicated boots or shoes for this chore that stay outside and never come indoors.
