How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

1. 1. Walk the resident's own yard with the resident and select a planting spot at least 15 feet from the home's foundation and clear of overhead/underground utilities; photograph the bare spot before planting.
2. 2. Dig the planting hole by hand at the correct depth for the root ball and set the tree so the root flare sits at grade.
3. 3. Backfill, water in thoroughly, and mulch 2 to 3 inches deep, holding mulch off the trunk, and form a watering basin.
4. 4. Photograph the finished planting from the matching before vantage and record the species and planting distance from the home.
