Walk the resident's own cultivated garden bed with the resident and confirm the plant's exact variety name and that it is labeled open-pollinated, not a hybrid or F1 variety; seed saved from an F1 hybrid does not come true, the next generation segregates, and it disappoints whoever borrows it later, so a hybrid-labeled plant is never marked here.
