Steps

1. 1. Confirm with the resident which ground-floor window gets the frame (a west or south-facing window with the most direct afternoon sun), confirm no buried utility line runs through the planting spot, and photograph the bare wall and window before work.
2. 2. Confirm the chosen vine species against the Texas Invasives / Texas Invasive Plant Database watch list before buying or planting anything; this rung plants Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia), a Texas-native deciduous vine.
