1. 1. Confirm the resident's permission and shut the water off at each outdoor tap before starting.
2. 2. Screw a code-listed ASSE 1011 hose bib vacuum breaker onto each outdoor tap by hand, then snug it a quarter turn with a wrench, never over-tightening.
3. 3. Turn the water back on and run the tap briefly to confirm the vacuum breaker holds with no leak at the threads.
4. 4. Photograph the fitted vacuum breaker on each tap and record how many outdoor taps at the home now carry one.
