intermediate work · the public library serving Marfa, Marfa, TX 79843 (Presidio County; best-estimate location near the town center, branch name and hours to be confirmed with library staff, exact address not confirmed)

Build a shade structure clear of the outside AC unit, never touching it, the public library serving Marfa.

Fund it for $120. Proof lands onchain when it's done.

$120 proposed

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash. You see which before you claim, never after.

Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee.

What the work involves

This library's outdoor air conditioning unit sits in full sun all afternoon with nothing but its own cabinet to shed that extra heat load, once the clearance zone, matted debris, and fin gaps ahead of it are already clear. Unlike a window, which only needs the sun stopped, this unit also needs unrestricted air movement on every side, so a shade structure built close against the cabinet only trades one obstruction for another; the structure has to stand off, shading the unit without ever narrowing the air it breathes.

Proof
before/after sun-exposure photos + setback measurement + GPS

This is exactly what gets it approved. Nothing settles without it.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Steps

  1. Confirm with library staff a shade structure location that leaves the full manufacturer clearance zone open on every side and above the unit, then set the structure's footprint at that setback, never over or against the cabinet.
  2. Set the shade structure posts in ground anchors or footings at that setback distance, tall and wide enough to break direct afternoon sun without ever narrowing the unit own airflow path.
  3. Finish the structure roof or shade cloth, and confirm by eye and by tape measure that no part of the structure overhangs or touches the cabinet, the coil, or the clearance zone.
  4. Photograph the unit in full sun before, and the finished shade structure after, with the setback measurement visible in the after photo.

What counts as done

  • Confirmation of library staff permission and coordination on site
  • Before photo of the unit in full, unshaded sun
  • After photo of the finished shade structure with the setback distance visible
  • Measured setback distance recorded on every side of the cabinet
  • Confirmation that no part of the structure touches or overhangs the cabinet, the coil, or the clearance zone

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

The standard this serves

Energy Efficiency Audit. Energy efficiency work begins with the walkthrough audit, the kind the ASHRAE standard describes: a trained eye moving through a building, reading the bills, the walls, the lights, and the equipment, and coming out with the short list of fixes worth doing first. Mastery looks like an auditor who can feel where a building is bleeding money within the hour, and prove it on paper. That instinct is trained by repetition on real buildings. This packet is one repetition: one system observed, one reading taken, one finding recorded the way the standard asks.

The money and the proof

What is promised, and what is not.

Funding this work is a purchase or a vote, same act: you either want this done here, or you want the world to contain it. A vote is free and signed; funding starts at one cent and anything beyond the wage is recorded as a premium for the worker. Either way the money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1786674604151_1xw1s77","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
