1. Mark planting spots at least 20 feet apart for mature canopy spread
2. Dig planting holes twice the width of each root ball
3. Set each tree at grade, backfill, and firm the soil
4. Water each tree in thoroughly at planting
5. Mulch around the base, kept clear of the trunk
