Construction / trades job sites, Los Angeles, CA (coached on-site geometry-and-load audit; results belong to the worker)
NIOSH Lifting Equation audit — Recommended Weight Limit + Lifting Index for your worst recurring lift — Los Angeles trades workforce.
At the workplace, a coach holds a tape measure against the load where a worker's recurring lift starts, then records the distances and the load's weight on a worksheet. Read all of it

Proof it takes, the deadline, the level
- ProofThe worst recurring lift measured at origin/destination + the RWL computed via the full multiplier formula + the Lifting Index recorded + an LI at or above 3.0 routed to occupational medicine + a red flag on the pre-screen also routed there + a named mechanical fix for any LI above 1.0

All of it: the words, the place, the proof
Measure the worst recurring lift on the job in Los Angeles, CA and compute its NIOSH Lifting Index. LA's construction and trades workforce lifts material off trucks, out of trenches, and onto racks all day, bags, buckets, conduit reel, drywall, block, and the geometry that actually drives back injury (how far the reach, how high the origin, how often, how twisted) is never measured on a real job site until after an injury claim. A NIOSH Lifting Equation audit of one worker's own worst recurring lift turns 'that lift is rough on my back' into a Recommended Weight Limit, a Lifting Index, and one named change to the task, raise the pallet, shorten the reach, split the bag, add a handle, before it becomes a claim.
Fund it for $220. The receipt lands onchain once the proof is approved.
How this work is done
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Bring
- tape measure (for horizontal, vertical, and travel distances)
- bathroom or luggage scale, or the load's known/labeled weight
- protractor or an angle-estimation app (asymmetry angle)
- tablet or clipboard with the RNLE variable worksheet and multiplier tables
- camera for the lift geometry, not for the worker's body
Steps
- 1. Administer the pre-screen before any measurement: ask about current back pain, radiating leg pain or numbness, or a back injury in the past 6 weeks. Any positive answer stops the audit here and routes to a clinician or physical therapist; do not proceed to measurement.
- 2. Identify the worker's single worst recurring lift on this job, the one done most often or that feels heaviest, never a one-time or maximal-effort lift.
- 3. Measure the lift geometry at both the origin and the destination: horizontal distance from the body to the load's center, vertical height of the hands at the start and end, and vertical travel distance between them.
- 4. Record the load's actual weight from a scale or a known label, never estimated and never a max-effort test, the lift frequency and duration class, the asymmetry angle (how far the trunk twists from straight ahead), and the coupling quality of the grip (good, fair, or poor).
- 5. Compute the Recommended Weight Limit: RWL = LC (51 lb, 23 kg) times HM times VM times DM times AM times FM times CM, using the standard RNLE multiplier tables for each measured variable.
- 6. Compute the Lifting Index: LI = actual load weight divided by RWL.
- 7. Record the result and apply the decision rules below. For any LI greater than 1.0, name one concrete change that would lower it (move the load closer, raise the origin height, reduce the twist, add a handle) and record it as the finding.
What counts as done
- Back-pain / radiating-symptom / recent-injury pre-screen completed BEFORE measurement, with any positive routed to a clinician or physical therapist and recorded
- All RNLE variables measured and recorded on-site for the worker's own worst recurring lift: horizontal distance, vertical height, vertical travel distance, asymmetry angle, actual load weight (scale or known label, never a max-effort lift), lift frequency/duration class, and coupling quality
- RWL computed (LC × HM × VM × DM × AM × FM × CM) and the Lifting Index (LI = load ÷ RWL) recorded
- LI ≥ 3.0, or LI 1.0–3.0 on a task that cannot be redesigned immediately, or any pre-screen red flag, routed to occupational medicine, a clinician, or a physical therapist, with the referral recorded
- For any LI > 1.0, one concrete named fix recorded (raise the origin, cut the travel distance, reduce asymmetry, improve coupling/add handles, or split the load), matched to real jobsite materials and equipment, plus a retest date
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
What is promised, and what is not
Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788107563212_yi3se9h","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee. Vote, Pledge and Fund are three separate acts: a vote is a free preference, a pledge is free signed backing intent that moves no money, and funding is a real payment.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
Other acts: vote, pledge, fund
