Anyone can start here · Community track / measured mile, New Orleans, LA
Submaximal VO2max estimate + percentile — New Orleans.
Fund it for $200. Proof lands onchain when it's done.
$200 proposed
This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash — recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee.
What the work involvesLow cardiorespiratory fitness is the single strongest modifiable predictor of all-cause mortality, yet most adults have never had VO2max measured. Without a number and percentile, there is no baseline to train against or trend to track. New Orleans rebuilt its safety net after Hurricane Katrina around community health centers rather than the old Charity Hospital model; CrescentCare, now one of the city's largest, became a federally qualified health center in 2013 on more than 40 years of prior community-health work and is a real route to PAR-Q+ clearance.
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Bring
- GPS phone or measured 1-mile flat course (or a 12-inch step + metronome)
- heart-rate monitor (chest strap preferred; wrist acceptable)
- stopwatch
- PAR-Q+ readiness form
Steps
- 1. Complete the PAR-Q+ readiness screen; if any exertion flag is positive, STOP and route to clinician clearance before testing.
- 2. Record age, sex, body mass (kg), and resting heart rate after 5 min seated.
- 3. Warm up 5 min at an easy pace.
- 4. Rockport: walk 1 mile as fast as sustainable on a flat course; record finish time (min:sec) and immediate post-walk HR. YMCA step: step up-down on a 12-inch box at 96 beats/min for 3 min, then sit and record the 1-minute recovery HR.
- 5. Estimate VO2max (ml/kg/min) with the protocol's validated equation from mass, age, sex, time, and HR.
- 6. Convert the estimate to an age/sex percentile against the FRIEND reference and record METs.
- 7. Photograph the course/step and the HR/time readout; log VO2max, percentile, protocol, and conditions into the proof record and sign it.
- 8. Record any beta-blocker or other rate-controlling medication; if present, do not apply age-predicted %-max-HR zones or standard heart-rate thresholds — anchor intensity with RPE and the talk test instead.
What counts as done
- Completed PAR-Q+ readiness screen (no unresolved exertion flags)
- Protocol named (Rockport 1-mile walk or YMCA step) with raw inputs
- Estimated VO2max in ml/kg/min with the age/sex percentile
- Timestamped photo of the measured course/step and the HR/time readout
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
What is promised, and what is not.
Funding this work is a purchase or a vote, same act: you either want this done here, or you want the world to contain it. A vote is free and signed; funding starts at one cent and anything beyond the wage is recorded as a premium for the worker. Either way the money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788114293481_au4tkot","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
