2. Prepare the bed by hand (clear existing litter/weeds, loosen soil) without disturbing any buried utility.
3. Plant a native Chihuahuan Desert shortgrass mix of black grama, blue grama, and tobosa grass at the design rate and spacing.
4. Water in and mulch the planting; photograph the finished planting from the matching before vantage and record species/count.
