1. Confirm the treatment segment with Texas Parks and Wildlife park staff and photograph the mesquite and juniper encroached or bare prairie segment before starting.
2. Hand-clear invasive mesquite and juniper seedlings and litter from the segment with hand tools only, no power equipment.
3. Hand-plant native mixed-grass prairie plugs (little bluestem, sideoats grama, switchgrass) at the design spacing to restore the prairie structure.
4. Water in the new plantings where accessible and photograph the restored segment from the matching before vantage, recording species and count.
