Fecal egg count (McMaster) monitoring — small ruminants and horses — Langston, OK.

Fund it for $190. Proof lands onchain when it's done.

$190 proposed

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash — recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.

Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee. Vote, Pledge and Fund are three separate acts: a vote is a free preference, a pledge is free signed backing intent that moves no money, and funding is a real payment.

What the work involves

Langston, OK is home to the E (Kika) de la Garza American Institute for Goat Research (AIGR) at Langston University -- an HBCU institute formed in 1984, in full operation since 1985-86 across roughly 320 fenced research acres, described in the field itself as the leading goat-research institute in the US, if not the world. AIGR personnel conduct farm visits collecting exactly this kind of data -- fecal samples for McMaster fecal egg counts and FAMACHA scoring on commercial farms -- as part of ongoing genetic-resistance-to-parasitism research in meat goats and hair sheep. FAMACHA catches anemia from one blood-feeding parasite, but it can't see the other strongyle-type worms sharing the same pasture, and most keepers still deworm on a calendar rather than a number. A correctly collected fecal sample sent to an accredited vet lab for a McMaster count gives an actual eggs-per-gram figure -- the only honest way to know whether a herd needs treatment at all.

Proof
A dated fecal sample collection (individual-animal, fresh, correctly stored/shipped) submitted to a named accredited veterinary diagnostic laboratory running the McMaster technique, with the lab's own EPG result transcribed verbatim and any FECRT/resistance interpretation left to the lab or a veterinarian — never computed or declared by this packet

This is exactly what gets it approved. Nothing settles without it.

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Bring

  • Individual sample collection bags/containers, labeled per animal
  • Disposable gloves
  • A cooler with ice packs for same-day/overnight shipping to the lab
  • The accredited lab's own submission form and shipping instructions

Steps

  1. 1. Confirm the receiving laboratory is an accredited veterinary diagnostic laboratory that runs the McMaster technique, and follow its own current sample-size, timing, and shipping instructions before collecting.
  2. 2. Collect FRESH fecal samples directly from the rectum or immediately after defecation (never off the ground, which risks free-living larval contamination) from individual animals, labeled by animal ID and collection time.
  3. 3. Keep samples cool (not frozen) and ship or deliver to the lab within the lab's stated window — McMaster counts degrade in old or improperly stored samples.
  4. 4. For a fecal egg count reduction test (FECRT), collect the pre-treatment sample the same day treatment is given, and the paired post-treatment sample 10-14 days later (per WAAVP timing) from the SAME individually-identified animals.
  5. 5. Record the lab's returned EPG result verbatim per animal (or per pooled group, if that was the lab's own protocol) — never estimate or interpolate a number the lab did not report.
  6. 6. Cross-reference against any recent FAMACHA round on the same animals: FAMACHA catches Haemonchus-driven anemia specifically, while FEC catches total strongyle-type egg burden across genera FAMACHA cannot see on its own.
  7. 7. Leave any FECRT reduction-percentage calculation and resistance/susceptible classification to the lab's own report or a veterinarian/veterinary parasitologist — the 2023 WAAVP guideline uses a statistical, host-species-specific framework this packet does not compute.

What counts as done

  • Individual-animal fresh fecal samples collected (never pooled unless the lab's own protocol calls for a pooled screen), labeled by animal ID, and kept cool/shipped per the lab's specific instructions
  • Accredited veterinary diagnostic laboratory named, McMaster method confirmed, and the lab's own EPG result transcribed verbatim per animal (or per pooled group, if that was the lab's protocol)
  • Any pre-treatment/post-treatment paired sampling (FECRT) recorded with both dates and both raw EPG results; the reduction percentage and resistance/susceptible classification are read from the lab's own report or a veterinarian's interpretation, never calculated by this packet using an outdated or simplified formula
  • Findings cross-referenced against any recent FAMACHA round on the same animals when one exists, noting that FEC catches species FAMACHA cannot

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

The money and the proof

What is promised, and what is not.

Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788242721577_k3v8zl0","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
