Measure and photograph the path's failed sections (washout, cross-slope, surface unevenness) against ADA/PROWAG trail-surface limits; confirm permit if the path is on public land.
Set a temporary detour marker; all work stays on the existing dry upland path footprint.
Regrade and compact a firm, stable surface (crushed fines or equivalent ADA-compliant trail material) to correct the washout, no work below the wrack line.
Verify slope and surface firmness with a level and photograph the finished path, and confirm continuous access from sidewalk to overlook.
