How this work is done

Steps

1. Pick one residential block near Broadway Road and 16th Street and walk both sides on the public sidewalk.
2. Count every living street tree, every dead or empty tree well, and every bare parkway strip that could hold a tree.
3. Note which corners and bus stops have zero shade at midday.
4. Mark each finding on a simple block sketch or phone map pin.
5. Photograph the block from each corner and record the counts with date and GPS.
