1. Walk the marked blocks in morning hours and record every existing street tree and every empty planting spot.
2. Note strip width, overhead wires, and the nearest water access for each empty spot.
3. Rank the ten hottest, barest block faces so planting starts where shade is needed most.
4. Photograph each block face and log your notes, with GPS and date at every stop.
