intermediate work · 5600–5700 block of W Wilshire Blvd (public right-of-way + typical commercial conditions), Los Angeles, CA 90036
Swap a tenant space's worst materials for Red-List-free ones, 5665 W Wilshire block.
Fund it for $110. Proof lands onchain when it's done.
$110 proposed
This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash — recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee. Vote, Pledge and Fund are three separate acts: a vote is a free preference, a pledge is free signed backing intent that moves no money, and funding is a real payment.
What the work involvesTenant improvements on this block still default to Red-List materials — vinyl flooring, high-VOC paints and adhesives — that off-gas into workers' air for years. Each swap-out is a bounded Materials-Petal repair.
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Steps
- Inventory the space's finish materials with the tenant and photograph each target (flooring, paint, sealants, ceiling tile); rank by exposure.
- Source Red-List-free replacements (Declare-labeled or equivalent) and record the product documentation.
- Remove the worst-ranked finish and install its replacement per manufacturer spec. If any existing material is suspected hazardous (old resilient flooring, pre-1978 paint), do not sand, scrape or disturb it — stop, photograph, and route that layer to a licensed assessor; swap only what is safe to swap.
- Photograph the finished swap and file the product documentation as the healthy-materials record.
What counts as done
- Ranked material inventory with photos
- Product documentation for each replacement (Red-List-free/Declare)
- Before/after photos of the completed swap
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
The standard this serves
Living Building Challenge, Materials Petal. The Materials Petal rests on a simple, radical idea: build with nothing that harms the people who make it, live with it, or inherit it when the building comes down. The Challenge keeps a Red List of the worst chemical offenders, and mastery means knowing your materials the way a good cook knows ingredients: where they came from, what is in them, where they go next. That literacy is learned by hand, on real jobs. This packet, choosing the safer product and recording exactly what was used, is how the learning starts.
What is promised, and what is not.
Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788294223443_ghgbsa1","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
