Steps

1. 1. Get the site owner's written permission naming the exact area, and call for a utility locate before any tool enters the ground.
2. 2. Score the ground as it is: dominant species, bare-soil share, the mowing regime today, the mature height the owner's clearance allows, and the state habitat scorecard result where a state runs one.
3. 3. Flag the area and photograph it from fixed points, keeping every part of the work clear of cable runs, conduit risers, post footings and equipment pads.
