Home self-check + coached professional referral, London, England

Vision acuity self-check + coached eye-pressure referral -- London, the acuity test's own origin city.

No honesty-limit caveat needed: confirmed directly from PubMed's own record (via NCBI eutils, PMID 26022921) that Andrew Bastawrous, first author of this Read all of it

Not funded yet. Settles as earned credit, $190 proposed.

All of it: the words, the place, the proof

No honesty-limit caveat needed: confirmed directly from PubMed's own record (via NCBI eutils, PMID 26022921) that Andrew Bastawrous, first author of this standard's own citation ('Development and Validation of a Smartphone-Based Visual Acuity Test (Peek Acuity) for Clinical Practice and Community-Based Fieldwork,' JAMA Ophthalmology 2015 -- the exact self-check acuity method this standard administers), is affiliated with the International Centre for Eye Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), London, England -- a direct, named-author-institution match sourced from the paper's own PubMed record. Distinct from the existing national (generic telehealth framing), Memphis (that city's own community-clinic low-cost-access network), and Baltimore (the Baltimore Eye Survey's own city, a different citation's own origin) tiles -- London is this standard's own acuity-test citation's first author's institution, a fourth distinct category and the strongest possible connection for that citation.

Fund it for $190. Proof lands onchain when it's done.

$190 proposed

This packet is not funded yet, so this figure is a proposed price and not money waiting in escrow. If a buyer funds it, approved proof settles that price onchain. If nobody funds it, approved proof earns provable credit toward the work instead of cash: recorded, and readable any time at vealth.net/labor/credit/(your wallet). You see which before you claim, never after.

Proof
Per-eye + binocular acuity via a validated method, confirmed by repeat + red-flag questions answered + a coached referral to a comprehensive dilated exam with IOP tonometry, with a next booking step

This is exactly what gets it approved. Nothing settles without it.

How this work is done

How this work is done

A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.

Bring

  • validated smartphone visual-acuity app (tumbling-E/Landolt-C style, e.g. Peek Acuity) OR a printed Snellen-equivalent chart
  • a measured, well-lit space at the chart or app's specified test distance
  • an eye occluder (or the palm of a hand) for monocular testing
  • current glasses/contacts, if worn, to test corrected acuity
  • a referral directory / locator for low-cost eye-care access (community health center vision program, optometry-school teaching clinic, sliding-scale program)

Steps

  1. 1. Confirm correction status (glasses/contacts) and whether this run is a corrected or uncorrected check; record any current eye diagnosis, diabetes, or a first-degree relative with glaucoma, since these raise referral priority.
  2. 2. Set up the validated app or printed chart at its specified distance in adequate, consistent lighting; occlude one eye at a time and test each eye separately, then both together.
  3. 3. Record the smallest optotype line read correctly (at least half the letters/symbols) per eye as the acuity result (e.g., a Snellen-equivalent of 20/40), and repeat once to confirm the reading.
  4. 4. Ask the red-flag screen up front, regardless of the acuity result: any recent sudden vision change, eye pain, new flashes or floaters, halos around lights, or a narrowing field of vision.
  5. 5. Explain that intraocular pressure (eye pressure) cannot be self-measured and is central to glaucoma risk (Weinreb 2014); coach the person to book a comprehensive dilated eye exam with tonometry, and hand them one concrete, named low-cost access route matched to their situation (a community/FQHC vision program, a local optometry-school teaching clinic, or a sliding-scale/vision-voucher program).
  6. 6. Log per-eye and binocular acuity, correction status, the red-flag answers, risk factors (age >=40, family history of glaucoma, diabetes, high myopia), and the specific referral route with a next booking step; sign the record.

What counts as done

  • Per-eye and binocular visual acuity recorded via a validated method (app or chart) at the correct test distance, correction status noted, confirmed by a repeat read
  • Red-flag questions asked and answered (sudden vision change, eye pain, new flashes/floaters, halos, visual-field narrowing) before the record closes
  • A comprehensive dilated eye exam with IOP tonometry recommended, with a named local referral route to a comprehensive eye clinic and a next booking step recorded
  • Risk factors recorded (age >=40, first-degree family history of glaucoma, diabetes) to set referral priority

Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.

What is promised, and what is not

Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1788978693123_v5yzrey","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.

Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee. Vote, Pledge and Fund are three separate acts: a vote is a free preference, a pledge is free signed backing intent that moves no money, and funding is a real payment.

An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.

Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.

Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.

Other acts: vote, pledge, fund
