2. Score each cow from behind and the side at the loin, hooks, pins, tailhead ligaments, and rump cover, assigning to the quarter point per the chart.
3. Record each score with ID and stage of lactation in the dated round log.
4. Compare against the prior round; compute per-cow change, flagging rapid post-calving loss.
5. List cows at BCS ≤2.25 and rapid losers for the herd veterinarian/nutritionist, with their stage context.
6. Flag any down, lame, or visibly sick cow for immediate veterinary attention, ahead of the report.
7. Deliver the round summary (distribution by stage, flagged list, trend) to the operation's decision-makers.
