Proof it takes, the deadline, the level
- ProofA completed Feline Grimace Scale (5 action units, 0-2 each, total 0-10) recorded from an undisturbed, unrestrained observation, compared to the published 4/10 threshold and any prior score, with every threshold-or-above or sustained-rising score routed to a veterinarian — never home-medicated

All of it: the words, the place, the proof
HONESTY LIMIT stated directly: this standard's own foundational citation (Evangelista et al. 2019, Scientific Reports) lists Paulo V. Steagall, its senior co-author, solely at Universite de Montreal at the time it was published. A recent 2026 paper by the same author (Steagall PV et al., J Am Vet Med Assoc, confirmed via NCBI eutils) shows he now carries a SECOND, current affiliation -- the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences, City University of Hong Kong -- alongside his continuing Universite de Montreal post. This connects to the citation's own senior co-author's present-day second institution, not a confirmed 2019-era one.
Fund it for $140. Proof lands onchain when it's done.
How this work is done
How this work is done
A documented method, so this packet comes out the same whoever does it.
Bring
- The cat, undisturbed and unrestrained in its normal resting environment
- A published Feline Grimace Scale reference chart with photo examples (felinegrimacescale.com)
- Good, even lighting on the cat's face without startling it
- Any prior Feline Grimace Scale score for trend
Steps
- 1. Observe the cat undisturbed for several minutes in a normal resting posture before scoring; do not handle, restrain, or provoke the cat to obtain the score.
- 2. Score ear position: 0 = ears facing forward/normal, 1 = ears slightly pulled apart or rotated outward, 2 = ears flattened and rotated outward or pinned.
- 3. Score orbital tightening: 0 = eyes open, 1 = eyes partially closed, 2 = eyes squinted or tightly closed.
- 4. Score muzzle tension: 0 = round, relaxed muzzle, 1 = mildly tense muzzle, 2 = muzzle tense with a sphincter-like, tightly pulled appearance.
- 5. Score whisker change: 0 = whiskers loose and curved, 1 = slightly curved or straight, 2 = whiskers straight and moving forward, away from the face.
- 6. Score head position: 0 = head held above the shoulder line, 1 = head aligned with the shoulder line, 2 = head held at or below shoulder line, or tilted/pressed down.
- 7. Sum the five 0-2 scores to a total 0-10; record the total against the published 4/10 threshold and any prior screen as a trend.
- 8. Route per the decision rules and record confirmation that no human medication was given; set the recheck timing.
What counts as done
- All five action units (ear position, orbital tightening, muzzle tension, whisker change, head position) scored 0-2 from an undisturbed observation, with the specific facial cues recorded
- Total score (0-10) calculated and compared to the published 4/10 analgesia threshold
- Trend recorded against any prior screen when one exists
- Any score at or above 4/10, or a sustained rising trend below it, routed to a veterinarian by name or clinic type, and confirmation recorded that NO human medication was given
Proof is measured against these, not judged by taste.
What is promised, and what is not
Three separate acts, never one: a vote is a free signed preference that moves no money; a pledge is free signed backing intent, balance-checked, that moves no money and never marks the packet funded; funding is a real payment that backs the wage. Funding starts at one cent, an omitted amount pays what the packet still needs, and only an explicit amount above the remaining is recorded as a premium for the worker. Money settles only on accepted proof. An agent can fund it in one x402 call: POST /nurture/fund {"workId":"WORK_1789317044091_unwvmny","funderWallet":"0xYOU"}.
Claiming is free. You sign to prove the wallet is yours: no card, no deposit, no fee. Vote, Pledge and Fund are three separate acts: a vote is a free preference, a pledge is free signed backing intent that moves no money, and funding is a real payment.
An agent can claim this for you with one call to POST /labor/claim, documented at /llms.txt.
Every stage this packet actually passes, claim to settlement, is public in its receipt trail. A stage that has not happened is not claimed.
Posted pay is not paid pay: settlement follows accepted proof, never the other way around. Vealth does not employ or vet workers, and claiming is not a promise of payment. See how proof and receipts work.
Other acts: vote, pledge, fund
