N95/P100 respirator, nitrile gloves and eye protection
camera and a moisture meter where a floor covering is being replaced

Steps

1. Confirm with the facility manager which item from the screening plan is being replaced, that the compliant alternative on site is the one the plan named, and when the space can actually be taken out of service. Substituting a different product on site defeats the entire point of the plan.
2. Confirm the space is releasable and the work window is real: occupancy moved or scheduled around, access controlled, and the ventilation arrangement agreed with the building engineer so the work does not push fumes into an occupied zone.
3. Photograph the existing finish as found, then protect the space: containment and floor protection in place, and adjacent surfaces masked.
4. Remove the flagged material. If removal reveals a substrate condition the plan did not anticipate (moisture, previous adhesive, suspected asbestos backing or pre-1978 paint), STOP and record it rather than covering it.
5. Prepare the substrate to the new material's requirements, including a moisture reading where the manufacturer specifies one for a floor covering. Installing over a substrate outside the specified moisture range voids the warranty and fails early.
6. Install the compliant material to the manufacturer's instructions, using the low-emission adhesives and sealants the specification calls for rather than whatever is on the truck.
7. Ventilate and cure for the manufacturer's stated period BEFORE the space is handed back, and confirm with the facility manager that the space stays out of use until then. A low-emission material installed and handed back wet is not a healthier space.
8. Hand over the record: before and after photos from matching vantages, the product documentation for what was installed, any substrate condition found, and the cure period observed; sign.
