Steps
- 1. Photograph the obstruction as found from the driver's or walker's eye position, so the sightline problem is visible in the before photo.
- 2. Confirm the agency authorization and the published clearance dimension for this location before cutting anything.
- 3. Work only from a safe position off the travel lane and off the track; near a railroad, work only inside the window and the setback the railroad authorized in writing.
- 4. Cut back vegetation by hand to the published clearance, making clean cuts at a node or the ground line rather than tearing or topping.
- 5. Rake and bag the cuttings and clear the drainage line so water runs, then remove every bag from the site the same day.
- 6. VERIFY: measure the achieved clearance, retake the eye-position photo, and enter the measurement, the bag count and both photos in the proof record.
