Once a household already runs a rain barrel, the real fix for Iztapalapa's weekly water-truck cycle is more storage, a larger sealed cistern that banks rainy-season capture for the weeks between deliveries. Many families currently store water in uncovered tanks that lose volume and collect debris. A proper cistern with a tap and overflow line multiplies how long stored water lasts and keeps it cleaner.
