Steps
- 1. With the occupant's permission at their door or window (outside, never inside for the log), take sound-level readings at the property line during work hours, recording the time, the app or meter and the level, and set each beside the city's permitted construction hours. Photograph dust on sills and glass.
- 2. Write down the occupant's own account in their words and ask whether it may be published; a withheld account is marked withheld. File the readings and the account on the city's service line and record the reference number.
- 3. For a sealing run, with written permission and the occupant present, walk the face of the home that looks at the build and mark every draft point with the smoke pencil: door edges, window sashes that stay shut, visible penetrations, the sill line. Record the result per point.
- 4. Seal the DIY-safe way only: weatherstripping on the doors, a door sweep, rope caulk or gasket on windows that stay shut, paintable caulk or low-expansion foam at penetrations, and a fresh filter if the home has an air handler. Leave every egress window and door operable. Nothing electrical, no attic, no crawlspace, no combustion appliance.
- 5. Repeat the smoke pencil check at the same points, photograph each point before and after, confirm every egress opens, and publish the record with the permission cited and its content hash anchored via vealth.net/anchor.
What counts as done
- The occupant's written permission and the home's public-facing address or its GPS point, with the face sealed named
- Every point sealed listed with the material used, photographed before and after
- The smoke pencil draft check at the same points before and after, with the result per point
- A line confirming every egress window and door still opens, and the filter change if one was made
- Any stop condition (old paint, suspect insulation, mold, a gas smell) named and routed to the owner's licensed contractor and the city, with the work halted there

What is promised, and what is not
