Steps

  1. Take a before photo of the cleared, bare bank segment.
  2. Using pruners, harvest dormant willow cuttings, pencil-thickness and 18 to 24 inches long, from an established native willow stand.
  3. Take a photo of the harvested cuttings staged for planting.
  4. Working from the accessible bank, use a mallet to stake each cutting into the damp bank soil at the design spacing.
  5. Take an after photo of the staked cuttings pushed into the bank at the design spacing.
  6. Record the cutting count and spacing.
  7. Record the GPS location of the bank segment.
