Photograph the site before planting.
Select native cottonwood, willow and mulefat stock and record the species and count planted.
Hand-dig each hole on the terrace, checking first that the ground is clear of any marked or suspected utility line.
Set each plant so the root flare sits visible at grade, then backfill and firm the soil.
Apply mulch 2 to 3 inches deep around each plant, held off the trunk, and form a watering basin.
Water each plant in through the watering basin.
