- 1. Confirm the feature with Texas Parks and Wildlife staff and photograph the litter strewn or eroding drainage apron before starting, staying on the surface well back from the opening.
- 2. Hand remove litter and debris from the surface drainage apron around the feature with hand tools only, no power equipment, never approaching or entering the opening.
- 3. Hand place erosion control matting and native grass plugs on the surface apron to slow surface runoff into the feature.
- 4. Photograph the protected apron from the matching before vantage and record the area treated.
