Steps

Confirm the exact house, the owner's consent and a dry day for the work.
Photograph the leak point from inside the attic, marking the stained sheathing and wet insulation.
Set the ladder on firm ground, tie it off at the top and foot, and clip into an anchored fall-arrest line before stepping onto the roof.
Photograph the failed flashing from the roof and note its type and the shingle and flashing materials around it.
Source new flashing and any shingles that match the existing materials, so the repair is like for like on this historic block.
Lift the shingles over the leak point, remove the failed flashing and old sealant, fit the matching new flashing, lap the shingles back in order, and seal only the exposed fasteners.
Photograph the re-flashed, sealed point from the roof.
Run a hose over the repaired point from low to high while a helper watches in the attic, and film it for at least ten minutes.
Attach the attic and roof before photos, the after photo, the water-test video, GPS and the site record to the closeout.
