With the old fixture still connected and running, measure and record its flow rate in gallons per minute, or its flush volume for a toilet, as the before reading.
Shut off the local water supply valve for that fixture.
Remove the old fixture and install the new WaterSense-labeled aerator, showerhead, or dual-flush toilet in its place.
Photograph the WaterSense label on the newly installed fixture.
Turn the water supply back on and measure the new fixture's flow rate, recording it as the after reading.
Run a dye tablet leak retest on each installed toilet and check the bowl for color.
Repeat the measuring and installing steps for every remaining targeted fixture at the site.
Record every before and after flow-rate reading, each WaterSense label photo, and the toilet dye-leak retest result as the job's proof.
