I've eaten at Meteora, this isn't a cold pitch. I looked at meteora.la the way a hesitant guest, or increasingly their AI assistant, actually experiences it: booking a table, booking a buyout, and getting someone on the phone. Below are three short pieces: what's quietly costing bookings, what the fix could feel like (including an AI actually booking Meteora), and the starter kit that makes it possible. Tap any one.

Nothing here asks you to change the food, the room, or the brand: all three are doing real work already. The fix is legibility: separate the two things both called "RESERVE," and put the facts (price, format, dietary handling) somewhere a person or an AI can actually read them before they leave your site.

The near future · try it in an afternoon
The same shift making AI book your tables (Google AI Mode worldwide, OpenTable via OpenAI's Operator) is making AI pay. Here's that rail, live, and try-able today: an agent paying a real endpoint and leaving a permanent receipt.
Give any AI agent (Claude, GPT-class, Llama, or your own) a Base wallet holding a few cents of USDC. No account, no API key, no sales call.
x402 (a web-native way for AI agents to pay per use): an endpoint answers HTTP 402 with a standard payment schema; the agent signs a USDC authorization and pays $0.10. A runnable client with a dry-run default is at vealth.net/recipes.html.
Back comes a real, bounded result, and every step (payment, settlement) is an on-chain receipt anyone can verify, forever. No invisible transaction, no chargeback you can't trace.
Why this isn't scary
The agent cannot do anything invisible here. Every action embeds its own receipt: permanent, public, verifiable. That's more accountability than most booking software offers, not less.
The bet
The bet is small and near: Google AI Mode already books restaurants worldwide, and OpenAI's Operator ships with OpenTable. AI competence, and AI spending, is scaling. Being legible and transactable to agents early costs an afternoon. Being late means the bookings, and the receipts, route to whoever moved first.
