Safety

Safety is not a stage. It holds at every stage.

This page is for anyone who takes, posts or funds a job on Vealth and wants to know how safety works. Entry work on Vealth is what an ordinary person can do safely from a public sidewalk. When in doubt, skip it and say so. An honest gap always beats a risky photo.

If someone is in danger, call 911 now. Vealth is not monitored live and will not bring help. Vealth reviews jobs and proof by hand, not as they happen.

The invariant

A job never asks for anything beyond its written scope.

Nothing on this board is worth an injury. The same rule holds at every stage of the field.

  • At intakeA need becomes a job with a scope written down. Anything hands-on in a regulated trade is bounded to documentation before it is ever posted.
  • At the jobThe written scope is the whole job. If the work in front of you is larger or more dangerous than the scope says, the job is wrong, not you.
  • At proofThe proof rule never asks you to prove more than you could safely observe. A gap you name is evidence; a photo you were not safe taking is not.
  • At the stopStopping is a recorded path, not a failure. It returns the job to the board open, exactly as a rejected proof does.

The core rules

Five rules, on every job.

Public spaces only
Work from public sidewalks and public spaces. Never enter private property, even for a better photo.
Document, don't touch
Survey and inspection jobs are documentation. Photograph the condition; never move, fix, or handle a hazard.
No people
No faces, no license plates, no photos into homes or cars. If someone is in frame, wait or skip.
Skip unsafe spots
Never step into traffic or an unsafe area for an angle. Skip it and write "skipped: unsafe" in your notes.
Stop-work
If something feels off or a stop-work condition appears, stop and email. That instinct is part of the job.

The stop

What a stop looks like.

A stop is a state like any other on Vealth: a word, once, on the row. The path goes back and stays open.

You stopped
STOPPED · STILL OPEN
Write "skipped: unsafe" in your notes and submit what you safely have. The job returns to the board open, and nobody is penalized for the gap.
The proof came back
PROOF REJECTED
The same path. A rejection is a verdict on the evidence, never on the worker, and a corrected proof is free to send.
The job is closed to claiming
NOT CLAIMABLE
Regulated and permit-required jobs are not claimable at all: the board's claim door refuses them fail-closed and names its reason.

Regulated trades

Regulated & hazardous work is document-only.

Any job touching the trades below is document-only and carries a "Document-only · trained / credentialed" label: observe and record from a safe, public vantage. Never enter, touch, or perform the hazardous task; that requires a licensed, trained crew with the right permits and equipment. These are never "anyone, today" jobs.

Confined spaces
Vaults, tanks, manholes, sewers: deadly atmospheres. Observe from outside only.
Trenching & excavation
Cave-in risk. Never enter an excavation.
Crane & rigging
Overhead loads. Stay clear of the swing radius.
Silica, lead-safe, PFAS
Airborne and chemical hazards. Documentation only; no disturbance of materials.
Lockout / tagout
Energized systems. Never operate, bypass, or handle equipment.
Demolition
Structural and falling-object risk. Observe from a safe distance only.

If a job asks you to do any of the above hands-on, it is mislabeled: stop and email [email protected].

The boundary

An honest gap beats a risky photo, always.

Your receipt will say exactly what you did and what it proves. It never asks you to prove more than you could safely observe.
