Someone can cook at a Michelin level and hold no star. A building can be in full alignment with the Living Building Challenge and never be certifiable. A community can embody the Sustainable Development Goals and never be named by them. The Vealth Standard is the realistic, equalizing standard for exactly those people and places: a place holds a Standing, earned only by settled, proven work, and it lapses when the work stops. No committee, no application, no fee, no plaque.

The five standings
Unread

First repairs landed with before and after evidence on at least five conditions, and one was checked again a season later.
Kept
A maintenance cadence is running. Everything looked at twice in twelve months, nothing sliding backward.
Whole
Twelve straight months across all nine conditions, nothing trending down, and the place has taught somebody: a person who worked here moved up a rung doing it.
The lapse rule: a standing above Read drops immediately to the highest level still satisfied when a re-measure is missed or any condition's latest number is worse than the one before it. Lapsing is normal, is public, and is not a penalty. It is the standard doing its job.
The five laws
Standing is held, not awarded
A live status on maintenance, re-measured on a cadence, which is where the degradation actually happens.
The receipt is the certificate
A bounded packet, evidence before and after, a named steward, a settled wage, on a record nobody can quietly edit. If a claim has no receipt, the claim does not exist.
Every condition has a rung at the ground
Enterable today by a person with no license, no capital, no specialized equipment. Checked by machine, not promised in prose.

Nobody is hurt earning it
A standing built on injured hands is void. Safety work gates every packet and scores no place.

What this is not
Not a certification: there is no committee, no application, no fee, and no plaque. Not a design target: nothing here can be earned on paper before the work is done. Not a replacement for the Living Building Challenge, the Michelin Guide, or the Sustainable Development Goals: it is the maintenance layer under them, and every condition names exactly which of theirs it serves. Their instruments are excellent; they point at the building that does not exist yet. This one points at the building you are sitting in.
Run it yourself
Nothing on this page asks to be believed. The standard itself is a public document, the reading recomputes from receipts, and the coverage of the work library is a command, never a quoted number.
