On the highest tides of the year, water in Suisun Slough rises to the edge of the town's docks, ramps, and lowest streets, a preview of the sea level this town will live with. California's king-tide record depends on people photographing exactly where the water reaches. Suisun City is one of the most exposed towns in the Bay Area and one of the least photographed.

  2. Photograph water level at five fixed waterfront points (dock edges, boat ramp, lowest curb) from safe paved ground.
  3. Capture one landmark in every frame so height can be read later.
  4. Record date, time, and predicted tide height on a log card.
  5. File the photo set and card as one dated record.

  • One comparison shot of the same point at a normal tide
